Professional Resources

The Graduate Division has developed or is subscribed to the following professional development resources.

Canvas Online Courses

The Graduate Division offers two online Canvas courses, Professional Development and Teaching as an Ethical Practice (TA Ethics), that graduate students, staff, and faculty may enroll in. Each course has multiple modules with videos. NOTE: TA Ethics is viewable by all members of the UCSC community with a Canvas account. If you are a first-time UCSC teaching assistant and required to take the course during the first quarter of your first teaching assistantship, make sure you are officially enrolled in the course so as to take the quizzes, complete the reflection assignments, and allow Canvas to track your completion.

Grammarly Premium

The Division of Graduate Studies subscribes to Grammarly Premium for all graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

Professional Organizations

UC Santa Cruz and the Graduate Division maintain membership in several professional organizations. Your affiliation as a graduate student or postdoctoral scholar allows you to access these organizations and their wealth of information, resources, and support for your professional goals.

Research Statement

In consultation with MCD Biology Professor Lindsay Hinck and Literature Distinguished Professor Carla Freccero, the Graduate Division created this information about the research statement.
