Itinerary
10:15–12:00 p.m.
UC Santa Cruz bus travels from the UCSC main campus to Genentech.
12:00–12:15 p.m.
Graduate students and postdocs arrive and check in for badges.
12:20–1:20 p.m.
Campus tour and presentation. Attendees will learn about Genentech’s history and culture.
1:30–2:00 p.m.
Lunch
2:15–2:45 p.m.
Opening statement from the Director and VP in Computational Catalysts.
3:15–3:45 p.m.
Panelists give lightning (5- to 10-minute) talks about their careers at Genentech and industry insights. Followed by a brief Q&A.
4:00–4:30 p.m.
Job search strategies: Resume reviews. Participants will break into groups of 5 with panelists (1 panelist per group) to answer questions about resumes and job search strategies.
4:30–4:45 p.m.
Job search strategies: Mock interviews. Panelists will select one attendee to ask interview questions and provide feedback and interview tips. The interview will be conducted before the rest of the participants.
4:45–5:00 p.m.
Closing remarks, networking, and swag handout.
